(2-phenoxy-1-ethanol), C8H10O2 - an organic compound with the ether, ethylene glycol phenyl deri vative. Used as bakteriostatyk, usually in the form of salts of q uaternary cations amoniowymi. Is used in cosmetics (as a Fixative for perfume), a repellent in insect deterrent measures, as a solvent - dissolves cellulose acetate, as well as components of varnishes and inks, is used in aquariums. Is a colorless, highly hygroscopic liquid with high viscosity.
